Port Seton is the perfect holiday base for those wanting to enjoy the history and cultural of Edinburgh but enjoy the tranquillity of the seaside. Buts that not to take away from Port Seton itself, with the small fishing village offering the perfect destination for a relaxing holiday on the East Scottish coast.
Port Seton, in East Lothian, is just 30 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh, which as the capital of Scotland is home to many attractions including museum and a zoo, bar, restaurants and its own cruise terminal at Leith.
Located on the Firth of Forth, Port Seton offers stunning views out over the North Sea and although the village is small and quiet there is still lots to do for the family including making the most of the numerous rock pool found on the beaches in Port Seton.
Aside from Edinburgh with its Zoo, Castle, Museum, Military Tattoo et al, Port Seton is the perfect base for visiting the Seabird Centre in North Berwick, the Flight Museum near Dunbar and Butterfly World near Dalkeith. For many it is the unspoilt beaches and sea air that is the major attraction of Port Seton and it would be hard to argue with them.
